The eastern forest country is woodland comprised of Eucalypt trees, grasslands and a range of bushes and herbs depending on location, fire occurrence and moisture. This vegetation zone has soils derived from basalt, granite and sandstone depending on location. There are a greater range of species of Eucalypts in the forest country than in the lowlands, depending on local soil types. Many scrub species can also grow in this region if protected from fire, frost and waterlogging in the early stages.
Locations include:
Maryvale, Goomburra, non-scrub areas to the east of Yangan and Emu Vale, Mt Tabor, Loch Lomond, Wildash,
Bony Mountain, Mt Marshall and Glengallan.
