Event Resources
Planning an event on the Southern Downs? These resources can help event organisers to stage the best event possible.
Queensland Events Guide
The Queensland Events Guide, developed by Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) has been designed to assist local organisers throughout an entire event lifecycle, to ensure they are equipped to stage the best event possible. The comprehensive resource provides advice on everything leading up to an event, event delivery and sustainability, through to post-event activities, whilst highlighting the important link between events and tourism.View or download Queensland Events Guide >
Event planning templates
Queensland Government provides a number of event planning templates. Event organisers have the ultimate responsibility to implement appropriate governance and management processes to ensure that events are managed professionally and with respect to financial, risk, legal and administrative accountability.
Event funding
Together with other government departments and private organisations, Council provides a number of funding streams throughout the year that event organisers may qualify for. Use the Southern Downs Grants Hub to find grants that might be suitable for your event.
Listing your event on Council websites
If your event is suitable for visitors, you can list your event on Council's Southern Downs and Granite Belt tourism website. If your event is for the local community, register it on the Community Events Calendar.
