Household hazardous chemicals such as chlorine and bleach are highly flammable, corrosive or explosive and should never be thrown into just any bin.
Clean out your shed, kitchen or laundry and bring your chemicals to these drop-off days where they will be disposed of in a safe and compliant manner by Council's waste partner, Cleanaway.
WHAT CAN I BRING?
- You can bring household quantities (up to 20L or 20kg of a single item) of:
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Poisons
- Pool and hobby chemicals
- Motor fuels
- Paint and paint-related products
- Acids and alkalis
- Cooking oils
WHAT CAN'T I BRING?
- Chemicals in unlabelled or damaged containers
- Flares
- Farming-related and commercial quantities of chemicals (note: these can be disposed of with the ChemClear program)
