Exploring the Southern Downs through the free official Southern Downs & Granite Belt Visitor App is easier than ever with new upgrades that make it a breeze to experience everything there is to see, do and discover in the Southern Downs.
The new version of the app can be used 100% offline, putting essential information about the region’s towns, accommodation, restaurants, cafes, wineries, tourist drives, events, art and heritage trails, attractions and tours at your fingertips no matter where you are.
Southern Downs Councillor Sheryl Windle said the enhancements now make it even more user-friendly to explore and enjoy all the attractions, activities and experiences on offer across the region.
“We have the perfect mix of breathtaking natural landscapes, immersive wine experiences, fresh local produce and exhilarating events celebrated across four distinct seasons,” Councillor Windle said.
“The app is the ultimate free travel companion to explore and #SeeSouthernDowns, ensuring you can navigate the region like a seasoned tour guide - you’ll never be stumped for things to do.
“Visitors to the region can find information on the best time to visit, directions, road closures and the locations of public amenities and Visitor Information Centres.
“You can search for activities or places using names or filters, and you can even create your own itinerary under the My Day heart at the bottom of the screen by clicking the heart on any item in the app that you want to explore at a later date.”
The app is also supplied with data around-the-clock from the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse which stores information provided by local tourism providers and business owners, so it always contains the most up-to-date information available.
Additionally, the new seamless integration with Google Maps ensures effortless navigation throughout the region.
If you already have the Southern Downs & Granite Belt Visitor App on your mobile, simply update it to start using all of the great new features. Or install the app from
