Join us at Dalveen State School for the 2025 Citizen of the Year Awards on Australia Day, Sunday 26 January 2025 to celebrate the extraordinary individuals and events that make the Southern Downs shine!
This year’s awards ceremony will be a unified event, bringing together people from across the region to reflect the inclusive and vibrant spirit of the Southern Downs. From recognising quiet achievers to celebrating standout contributions in sport, culture and community service, the awards are an opportunity to acknowledge the heart and soul of our region.
Southern Downs Councillor Morwenna Harslett invites everyone to come together for this community event.
“The Citizen of the Year Awards are about celebrating those who make our region a better place,” Councillor Harslett said.
“This is a chance to honour their achievements and share in the pride of being part of such a generous and connected community.
“Let’s celebrate the extraordinary community spirit that makes the Southern Downs such a wonderful place to call home!”
Mayor Melissa Hamilton echoed the sentiment, encouraging the community to join in the celebration.
“We look forward to seeing you in Dalveen to celebrate the incredible contributions of our local community champions and to recognise the people and events that bring our region to life,” Mayor Hamilton said.
