Become a part of Warwick folklore and register your Wild West themed float for the John Dee Warwick Rodeo Street Parade on Saturday 28 October.
With thousands of cheering spectators expected to line Palmerin Street, the much-anticipated annual street parade is a great opportunity for schools, local community groups and businesses to dress up, saddle up and mosey on down the main street of Warwick.
Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi said there is plenty of inspiration to be found in this year’s Wild West theme and he encouraged the community to embrace the cowboy spirit for the iconic event.
“The annual Warwick Rodeo Street Parade is a true family-friendly community event and it is as legendary as the Warwick Rodeo and Gold Cup Campdraft itself,” Mayor Pennisi said.
“This year’s street parade promises to transport Warwick’s CDB back in time to the Wild West frontier.
“Whether it’s an elaborately themed truck, car, ute, bike or some mind-blowing creation, get together with friends or work mates, have fun and be part of the rodeo atmosphere.
“A little bit of resourcefulness, imagination, teamwork and enthusiasm is all it takes to create a show-stopping float and possibly win big cash prizes.
“So, let’s show them how the Wild West was won. Let’s create folklore. Let’s make the parade bigger, better and brighter in 2023!”
