Would you like to help Council make better informed decisions about the current and future services and facilities offered at Southern Downs Libraries? Southern Downs Regional Libraries strive to be an inclusive community hub that inspires and connects people, and Council is now inviting the community to have a say on the next chapter.
The Library Service Satisfaction Survey is the latest initiative to emerge from Council’s future-focused working strategy, A library for all seasons: Creating an agile future for Southern Downs Regional Libraries which aims to meet the changing needs of the community by extending the reach and potential of our libraries.
Mayor Vic Pennisi said the community’s voice will play an integral role in understanding community sentiment and shaping the future of the library services across the region.
“At their very core, libraries provide a hub for reading, recreation and relaxing, and they are an important place for communities to engage and connect,” Mayor Pennisi said.
“Southern Downs Regional Libraries aim to provide a vibrant, dynamic library service that meets the recreational, informational and educational needs of the community.
“Council would like to find out about your experience using our services and facilities. Your feedback is valuable and your suggestions will be considered for future planning and the continual improvement of our library centres.”
Council has already begun reinvigorating library services across the region. Following extensive consultation with the Killarney community, Council recently collaborated with the Killarney Co-op to set up a book exchange, with exchange items, shelving and furniture all donated by Southern Downs Regional Libraries.
The survey can be
completed online or hard copies are available at our libraries and customer service centres. Closes on Monday 28 August 2023.
