UPDATE as at 6.30pm, 10 November 2021
Following the announcement by the Queensland Government of a positive COVID-19 case at the Warwick Hospital, a public pop-up drive-through testing clinic will be open at the Warwick Showgrounds daily from 8.30am to 4pm until further notice.
The outdoor testing clinic at the Warwick Hospital has been temporarily closed in anticipation of a potentially significant wet weather over the next several days.
Southern Downs Mayor Vic Pennisi said there are a number of options across the region for the community to get tested and vaccinated.
“Council is working very closely with the Queensland Government and Queensland Health during this time and will continue to support them to keep our community safe,” Mayor Pennisi said.
“It is paramount that if you are feeling unwell, go and get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to encourage everyone to roll up their sleeves and get the jab for the greater good.”
Darling Downs Health are currently reviewing options for a pop-up vaccination clinic in Warwick and details will be confirmed shortly.
The Stanthorpe State School will also host a pop-up vaccination clinic on Saturday 13 November between 9am and 4.30pm. Anyone over the age of 12 years is eligible. Everyone is welcome and no bookings are required.
