Have your say on Council’s Grants to Community Policy

24 August 2021

Southern Downs Regional Council is calling on the community to provide feedback on the 2021 Grants to Community Policy and its associated guidelines.

With more than $1 million committed to local community, cultural and environmental initiatives in the 2021/22 Budget, Council recognises the important contribution community organisations and members make to the safety, health, equity, vibrancy and inclusiveness of the Southern Downs community.

The Grants to Community Policy outlines Council’s commitment to supporting communities in the region by providing financial assistance to local not-for-profit organisations to support them in delivering projects that will provide a broad benefit across the Southern Downs region.

A Council spokesperson said feedback from the community would be valued and used to inform future versions of the document.

“We look forward to hearing from the Southern Downs community their view of the current Grants to Community Policy and associated guidelines, including suggestions on what could be improved upon or included in future versions of the document,” the spokesperson said.

“The feedback received will be used to inform changes to future funding programs and policies to ensure a balanced approach.”

The draft Grants to Community Policy and associated guidelines are now available on Council’s website under ‘Have Your Say’ and feedback can be directed to Zoe Dunlop, Community Grants Officer at zoe.dunlop@sdrc.qld.gov.au. Submissions close 5pm Friday 17 September 2021.
