Southern Downs Regional Council is backing small business by launching the Business Marketing Support Program with $70,000 in grant funding for local businesses.
Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements, the Business Marketing Support Program provides small businesses with three free sessions with a local marketing consultant.
Eligible businesses will receive one-on-one marketing advice tailored to their business along with practical tools and tips to better manage their own marketing and branding.
Southern Downs Councillor Andrew Gale said the program will assist local businesses to better understand the new digital age and provide mentoring to improve strategic vision.
“We have more than 4,000 small businesses on the Southern Downs and we want to empower them to reach their potential, which will also help bolster our economy,” Cr Gale said.
“The program covers three intensive one-hour consultations and these tailored sessions will offer big benefits by boosting business capability to better plan, deliver and analyse their own marketing and branding efforts.
“The free sessions offer mentoring and advice across a range of topical issues and could include anything from a social media audit, to graphic design recommendations, to mobile phone video training – whatever marketing assistance your business needs to succeed.”
The Business Marketing Support Program is open now with applications assessed and approved on a rolling basis until the funding is expended. For program guidelines and to apply, visit Council’s economic development website at investsoutherndowns.com.au.
