HAVE YOUR SAY on a proposed road name in Dalcouth

At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 22 January 2025, Southern Downs Regional Council resolved to undertake a public consultation process with the broader community to seek public feedback on the proposed name for the unnamed road connected to Lot 461 on SP303977, Gillbard Road, Dalcouth QLD 4380.

Council is considering the name “Boag” in honour of William Boag and is inviting community feedback.  William Boag was a photographer who captured many images of life in the Stanthorpe region in the 1870s. For more information, please refer to The great "tin rush" of Stanthorpe by Christina Ealing-Godbold, which can be viewed on the State Library of Queensland website.

After the public consultation period, a report will be presented to Council for the final decision on the road name.

Public comments are welcome until 11 February 2025. Please submit your feedback directly to Council via mail@sdrc.qld.gov.au or phone 1300 MY SDRC (1300 697 372).
